How to install the LG G3 Keyboard on LG G2, Nexus 5, Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and HTC One M8?

The ease of using a smartphone gets doubled if it is embedded with Smart Keyboard. Smart Keyboard feature can be installed by following a few eay steps. LG G3’s Smart Keyboard works wonderfully well on all Nexus 5, Galaxy Note 3, LG G2 and HTC One M8 phones.

An XDA developer named Cloudyfa shared this feature with us and now we can successfully install it in other Android devices. The devices, which have an official Android KitKat OS or a custom ROM that is based on this version of Android can easily, work with LG G3 Keyboard. This Keyboard is tested successfully on various devices like Nexus 5, Samsung Galaxy Note 3, HTC One M8 and LG G2.

Prerequisites for installing LG G3 Keyboard:

The Android based device should have a running Android 4.4 KitKat or its updated version. Any other custom ROM based on Android 4.4 KK or higher feature is also suitable for it.

The device needs to have the root rights and BusyBox.

Also, the device needs to have the CWM or TWRP recovery installed in it.

This step by step guide is only to provide you the basic information regarding installing the Smart Keyboard feature. While doing so if any damage or data loss takes place, our Android Source Team cannot be held liable or responsible. So, proceed at your own risk.

How to install the LG G3 Smart Keyboard APK file on Nexus 5/Galaxy Note 3/LG G2/HTC One M8 devices:

  • Firstly, if you have an LG G2 phone, download G3Keyboard.zip file from the link.
  • Secondly, if you have any other Android models, download the G3Keyboard_alt.zip file from the link.
  • Now, download the g3kb.apk APK installer.
  • Next, by using the USB cable, connect your Android device to PC.
  • Then, copy the APK file to the Android device.
  • Install the BusyBox application.
  • Open the BusyBox application and tap the install button.
  • Now, on your device, go to the Settings>> Security and enable the Unknown sources option.
  • Open the LG G3 Keyboard APK file and tap on it to install the same.
  • Once the application is flashed, you need to open and tap the Install button.
  • Now, go to the Language and input settings and from there select the LG Keyboard as default keyboard.

How to install the LG G3 Keyboard zip by using the Recovery Image:

Note: The next step by step guide is an application, apply it only if the installation of APK is not successful, and you want to install the zip file of LG G3 Keyboard.

  • First, copy the G3Keyboard.zip file to your device.
  • Second, boot the device into recovery mode.
  • Be sure that you have a backup for the actual firmware.
  • If you have a device that has TWRP recovery installed on it, tap on the Install button and select the flashable zip file and confirm for that installation. Once the installation is complete, select wipe dalvik cache and after that select the Reboot system option.
  • If you have a device that has a CWM recovery image installed on it, select install zip from SD card and after that select the zip and confirm that with ‘Yes’ option. When the flashing operation is done, click on the wipe dalvik cache and after that select the reboot system now option.

Once the application is completely installed, select from Settings > Language and input and choose the keyboard.

Congratulation! Now you have successfully installed the LG G3 Keyboard on your Android embedded device.
