Firefox Beta V33 For Android Adds Chromecast Support, Undo A Closed Tab And More

Firefox Beta For Android

Mozilla has released Firefox Beta v33 for Android, version that introduces several new features and the most important is the integration of video streaming functionality.

Firefox 33 Beta for Android allows you to send a video from a web page to a second screen, using the “Send to device.” Among the playback controls appear an indicator, clicking on which will open a list of devices connected to the same WiFi network used by your Android smartphone. The new Media Control Bar is visible at the bottom and allows you to play, pause or stop the video.

The feature is compatible with Chromecast and Roku media player. The video will run only if the receiving device supports the same format.

Other new features include the capability to automatically erase the output of the browser, reopen a closed tab by mistake and added Aragonese, Frisian, Kazakh and Khmer languages.

As almost all beta versions, this version is not bug-free, in particular there are problems with playing videos in MP4 and Flash on Android L.

Firefox 33 stable version will be released in mid-October, but if you are curious to find out how to stream Chromecast (or Roku) from Firefox for Android you just need to download the beta version from Google Play Store, recalling that could be subject for bugs and make your system unstable.
