CyanogenMod 11 M9 custom ROM is now available for Google Nexus 10 device. This step-by-step guide is released to learn how easily you can manually install it on your Google Nexus 10 device.

Before beginning the new installation of CM 11 M9 on your device you need first take a look on the prerequisites list below:

This guide is provided only for Google Nexus 10 ‘Manta’ device, the version of your device can be verified from About Device section, there should write ‘manta’ under ‘Model’.

Do not try to install this update on any other incorrect tablets.

The Nexus 10 device need to be rooted and running the latest CWM or TWRP Recovery Image.

On this step by step guide you’ll find two extra steps: NANDROID ROM Backup and Factory Reset step.

Nandroid Backup will create a full restore point for your device, this backup can be used if the new custom ROM does not boot into normal mode.

The Factory Reset step has to be applied, so all the files flashed by the previous ROM will be wiped.

The Factory Reset step will not wipe your data from internal storage, and it will only erase the data stored on the system memory.

  • If you want to backup your installed applications then you can use the Helium for Android application.
  • Contacts information can be synced with your default Gmail account.
  • This guide is provide only for Advanced Users, so do not blame us if  you’ll brick your Nexus 10 device.
  • Note that the battery charge level of your device has to be more than 60%, this will prevent the tablet to get a power off during the flashing process.

How to install the new CM 11 M9 Android 4.4.4 ROM on Google Nexus 10:

  1. Firstly, Download the CM 11 M9 Snapshoot custom ROM zip file from here.
  2. Secondly, download the Gapps for Android 4.4.x custom ROM from here.
  3. Now, connect the Google Nexus device to your PC by using the USB cable and copy both zip files on the device’s internal storage.
  4. Once the files are successfully copied, you can disconnect the device from the Computer. If you’ll download the files on your device, then you can skip this step.
  5. Do not unzip the files, and switch off the Google Nexus 10 device and after that boot it into Custom Recovery Mode.
  6. Keep in mind that, both CWM and TWRP Recovery custom images will work with this step by step guide.
  7. First, create a full NANDROID ROM Backup, if you have a CWM: select the ‘backup and restore’ option, for TWRP you need to press Backup.
  8. Set a name for the saved file and confirm the process.
  9. Apply the Factory Reset step, if you have a CWM custom image select ‘wipe data/ factory reset’ and for TWRP: press Wipe.
  10. Confirm the process.
  11. Now start the CM 11 M9 Snapshot ROM installation for Google Nexus:  for CWM you need select ‘install zip from sdcard’ and then ‘choose zip from sdcard’, for TWRP press Install.
  12. Find the CM11 M9 Snapshot ROM and confirm the process.
  13. Once the new OS is installed, you can install Gapps zip, too. Use the same options as in step 7.
  14. Reboot the device into normal mode after all files are successfully flashed.
  15. Note that the first boot process of CM 11 M9 will take a while before it loads all new files.

Use your default Google account or create a new CM profile in order to take the full control over your device.
