How to Easily Root the Samsung Galaxy Tab A 9.7 Tablet

If you want to modify the Android core system of your Samsung Galaxy Tab A 9.7 to enjoy its full potential you need to perform an unlocking process. In this guide, you will learn how to root the Galaxy Tab A 9.7 T550, T555, P550 and P555 model numbers using the SuperSU tool.

SuperSU is a root software developed by Chainfire and is available for the Samsung Galaxy Tab A 9.7 regardless of the Android version that you are currently running on your tablet. After rooting, the factory and default restrictions of your tablet will be removed and the Android system that powers your Galaxy Tab A 9.7 device will be unlocked. You will manage to perform various customized operations, improve the performance, and upgrade the battery life or bumping speeds of your tablet.

Once you complete the step by step procedure described in this post, you will be able to apply operations like: changing the default Samsung UI, removing bloatware and start-up programs, adding features currently not available on the default Android system, make Nandroid backups, add custom kernels, install complex apps from Google Play and also from other sources, overclock / undervolt CPU frequencies or install custom ROMs and MODs.

The SuperSU root exploit being developed by third party developers is not an official operation supported by Samsung which means that Samsung KNOX will be tripped and your Samsung Galaxy Tab A 7.9 warranty will be void.

The root process can be easily and quickly applied, but you have to be cautious and keep everything safe and secured. Thus, we recommend you to save your personal data, info, accounts and files that might be later required on your Galaxy Tab A 7.9 device. So, before proceeding, sync your data with your Google account or use cloud storage platforms that are at present installed on your tablet and secure a backup process.

The root operation can be complete only if you flashed a custom recovery image on your Galaxy Tab A 7.9 tablet. For that reason, before applying the steps from below, install TWRP recovery on your Samsung Galaxy Tab A 9.7. The flashing operation will also require a computer where to download the SuperSU package.

On your tablet, you must also become a developer and the USB debugging option must be check. To become a developer, go to Settings – > About device and tap seven times on the Built Number and then access Settings –> Developer options and check the USB Debugging field.

Make sure your battery is fully charged before starting the root process or else your device might get switched off while you complete the tutorial.
